Kids Have Big Hearts

For many days before the Superbowl I would tell my students about how the Patriots were going to win. I didn't have a lot of doubt in my mind. One of my students really doesn't like the Superbowl and I knew if they lost he would never let me live it down. I woke up Monday morning and I didn't want to go to work because I didn't want to face him. When the bell rang 5 of my students all walked in separately and said things like. "Oh Ms. Mangum what happened with the Patriots." "I can't believe they lost." "We'll get them next time." They sat and mourned the loss with me. It made a big difference in my day. They all felt bad for me and when the other student came in to rub my nose in it, it didn't really seem to matter anymore. I'm just so glad that kids have big hearts.
